Pricing your commercial move
There are two ways to calculate the cost of your move: either by weight in pounds (lbs) or by volume (cubic feet). Each calculation method has its advantages and disadvantages but at 1st Generation Moving we make it our policy to quote you the most economical option for your particular moving needs.
If you request a quote over the phone we can provide you with a non-binding estimate based on the size and number of rooms of your business premises.
Alternatively, you can send us a complete list of items that you want to move and we can give you an estimate in either weight (lbs) or cubic feet.
Long distance commercial moves
For long distance commercial moves we offer a fixed priced contract based on the volume of goods, the distance to the destination and any additional services, where applicable. There are no hourly rate charges either for labor or for trucking.
As with all our moves, we always aim for maximum productivity at the minimum cost and time, and so provide the optimum number of movers required by the job.
Local commercial moves
For local commercial moves the hourly rate quoted includes labor and trucking and is based on the number of movers and trucks required.
As with all our moves, we always aim for maximum productivity at the minimum cost and time and so provide the optimum number of movers required by the job.
For local moves that originate in Las Vegas we start to charge when the movers arrive at the origin and the clock stops upon completion of the delivery.
All drive time between customer locations is calculated as double.
There is a minimum charge of three hours for any local move.
Trucks
Our trucks at 1st Generation Moving are custom-made, state of the art, air-ride vehicles complete with GPS navigations systems and lift gates.
Boxes and Packing Materials
We only charge for packing materials and boxes as used.
If you provide your own adequate boxes and materials and your belongings are packed up and ready to go you will not incur any additional packing expense.
However, please note that we cannot accept any loose items, including televisions, electronics, lamps, pictures and mirrors, etc. Everything must be boxed for safety. We cannot accept any goods that are packed only in paper or plastic bags.
Large or fragile items such as glass doors, mirrors or marble tables will require packing in a cardboard crate before being loaded into the truck. The foreman will crate up the item on the spot and will advise you of the cost, charging only for packing materials actually used.

Quick tips that everybody should read before starting to pack
Tip 1: Packing books
Books weigh a lot. Pack your books in small boxes so that they are easy for packers to move safely and quickly. Large heavy boxes of books will only slow down your move and make it hard for our movers.
